So Martha and I realized that neither of us has bought any music that has been released in the year 2004. Sure, I ripped a copy of the new Modest Mouse album from Ron, and it is good, but that's it. The new Old 97's album didn't sound too exciting (and I got to hear a lot of it live, in the Stuyvesant High School auditorium, which was pretty bizarre -- the crowd was nice and polite and sat in the seats, which Rhett Miller later said made him feel like he was actually back in high school), though I am sure to buy the new Ted Leo album despite being less than thrilled by new songs at the South Street Seaport show in June. Of course, outdoor sound is always sketchy, plus the whole being soaked by a rainstorm did not exactly put me in the "I like music!" mindset. Yes, the Me and Mia mp3 on the Lookout page is pretty rad, complete with a reference to an earlier TL song ("Walking Through a Life") in the first line.

Anyway, we decided that once we have money again (currently we are recovering from moving costs, a broker's fee, and buying new furniture) we will go out and buy some music that came out in 2004. So, what's good this year?
