I'd Rather Be Frying Bacon

I would like to declare that my major accomplishment of this weekend was beating Zelda II. Oh, the GameBoy Micro is a nifty little piece of technology, and not a little bit addictive. After having one major session of cursing Nintendo (upon finding out that while a "Continue" restarted you at the entrance of the final palace while a "Save Game" kicked you all the way back to the very beginning whether or not you had blown all your extra lives getting through the damn near impossible approach to the final palace), I replayed the whole game from step 0 and sat down Saturday determined to see it through to the end. More cursing ensued. Then a near victory. And more cursing, followed by the declaration that "I suck at video games!" A tiny bit more cursing, and then, victory.

Followed by more cursing and cocktails.

At this moment, I am installing Windows inside Linux, so I can put an end to dual-booting on those rare occasions when I want (or need?) to use Windows. See below:


This afternoon I ate the best burger I've ever had, soon after discovering that I got props from a guy who bought the Florida Evans CD for a dollar in Ann Arbor. (Scroll down a bit when you go to that page.) It was a good day.
